Introduction:In a fire, your residents depend on you to keep them safe. The purpose of this training is to help you develop, practice and evaluate a fire emergency plan for your assisted living facility. Developing a plan and practicing it regularly will help prevent death and injury in a fire. Objectives: At the end of this course, you will be able to: - Identify the importance of fire emergency planning in assisted living and why residents are at increased risk of death and injury from fire;
- Identify the steps you should take to develop and implement a fire emergency plan or to modify and improve an existing plan;
- Train staff and residents to react correctly in a fire emergency, and;
- Evaluate and improve your fire emergency plan.
